ABOUT US
The word ‘Glorious ‘means to bring fame or admiration in one’s life. With motives to bring charm and success in the lives of students, who have a passion for the hospitality industry the Glorious Institute of Hospitality Management Institute was established in year 2017. It is situated at Kurseong, Pankhabari road, below All India Radio station ,near Brahma Kumari office in a serene weather of beautiful Kurseong. Glorious Ihm is run by Organization For Advancing Better Societies ( register under the West Bengal society act and National institution for Transforming India ,Govt. of India) and the institute is ISO certified 190402603. The institute is even holds the trade licenses under West Bengal Municipal Act,1993.
Glorious Ihm is the first management institute established in Kurseong sub –division constantly working for benefits of students to nurture young individual in hospitality and allied industries. We at Glorious Ihm believe that there is a potential in every individual, wherein only a small grooming and motivation is required to bring the best in each one. Keeping in mind that the high course fees should not come as a hurdle in the path of learning, we have design the fees in such a way that it can be as affordable as possible.
We trained for four major departments such as, front office, housekeeping, food and beverages services, food production (Kitchen department). Apart of this department we even trained for management skills, personality development classes, interview skills and financial management session. We have many practical classes along with theoretical classes, we take our students for industrial exposure visit so that they can interact with department’s heads and practically they can see and feel the environment of hotels industry.
Every month we invite successful guests for the guest lecture. An experienced team from Taj Chai Kutir (Taj Group) often visits our institute to provide training in different departments. For those who are interested in airlines, we trained them with the help of an air-hostess and an expert in an aviation department. Frequently, we counsel the students, track their performance, and offer the Best Student of the month award to deserving students.
The History of the Glorious Institute of Hospitality Management
Every year we have cultural and award events, and we encourage our students to take part in many social programs such as visiting and helping old age homes, tree plantations, and many more. We have experienced teaching faculties working in reputed industries like ITC and the Oberoi, Abroad and have experience teaching more than 15 years. Our students come from various regions of Darjeeling Hills, such as Kurseong, Mungpoo, Lamhatta, Takdha, Kalimpong etc. To learn about the courses students even take an admission from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Kolkatta, Bihar, Nepal, near Bhutan.
Understanding our efforts and the changes we have brought to the lives of students we have been awarded by many esteemed organizations. Even COVID-19 could not resist our enthusiasm, so we dealt with the situation wisely and conducted various motivation sessions, for our students, students of other universities, and various organization
With the power of our network and standard of training, we can provide job placement for our students in reputed industries such as The Taj Group of Hotel, The Oberoi, Hyatt, Radisson Blue, ITC, Abroad, airlines industries, and the cruise. There shall be no worries for the job placements as we have a network with more than 100-star industries. Our team has experience in providing jobs to more than 3000 students. We have left no stone unturned while framing our institution, We have done our best to an extent and still, we have a long way to go.
